When is national nurses week

We celebrate National Nurses week in honor of Florence Nightingale, who is recognized world wide as the founder of modern nursing.  National Nurses Week is celebrated every year beginning on May 6th and ending on May 12th, Florence Nightingale's Birthday!

Nurses are pretty special people. They devote their career to helping others and are the first line of defense in the prevention of injuries and illness.  We all owe a lot to nurses.  They are the people that heal the suffering of others.  Nursing isn't a job, it's a part of you.  It's definitely a labor of love.

So when you meet a nurse, be kind and thank them for all they do.  At some point in your life you"ll need one! Even if you're are a nurse yourself.  Nurses are constantly improving patient outcomes. We recognize them as a substantial force for their critical role in healthcare. Nursing has been voted "The most trusted profession".

So why to we have a whole week of celebration for nurses?  Cause we darn well deserve it!  So, Happy Nurses Week to all the fabulous nurses around the world!
