While most nurses carry the normal nurse's "stuff," things like scissors, flashlight, stethoscope and tape. But what else can you find in a nurse's pocket.
1. Peanut butter and tongue depressors. It's hard to get a break to eat at times. Peanut butter is a great source of protein and tongue depressors can be used as eating utensils.
2.Small bottles of hand sanitizer and baby wipes. You can never have enough ways to clean up after a G-tube suddenly backs up, or you get splashed with some other lovely body fluid.
3. Pens, pens and more pens. For every pen we lose we pick up another. Usually with the names of pharmaceuticals on them. Oh, and a permanent marker is always great from marking I.V drips.
4. Money! Money for the cafeteria, money for coffee or for the Avon you bought this week.
