I've been a nurse now for 2 years and I decided to become a nurse because I have a lot of compassion for people and I sincerely want to help them. But I am also a very introverted person who enjoys spending time alone more than anything.
Lately I have been wondering why I chose nursing as a career because the nurses I work with are complete jerks and stab you in the back every chance they get. I can't stand to be around them. They are so transparently fake and the brown nosing that goes on is worse than you can even imagine.
I really wish I hadn't wasted 4 years of my life going to college for something that I can't stand. I do enjoy nursing and I love my patients. I'm a very good nurse and I'm proud of my achievements but I'm so sick of the back stabbing that goes on.
Will I survive this? Are there any other nurses that feel this way?
