Percival Roy S. Kuizon's nursing license was suspended on Friday after he pleaded no contest to charges that he sexually assaulted a female inmate while working as a nurse at Washtenaw County Jail in Michigan.
The charge is second degree criminal sexual conduct and considered a felony. It is mandatory for the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, to take action against any nurse who is convicted of a felony.
Kuizon, 34, was sentenced to six months jail time and five years probation.
In 2015 Kuizon was accused of ordering an inmate to perform oral sex on him while in the medical unit. The inmate reported the incident to another staff member.
Although Kuizon pleaded guilty to the charges, that does not mean he admitted guilt, but guilt is assumed for the purpose of sentencing and the crime will remain on his record.
He may have made the decision to accept a plea bargain agreement to avoid being sentenced to much more time in jail. Second-degree criminal sexual conduct is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
