Louisville, KY- A teenager is in jail tonight on a $50,000 bond. She will be tried as an adult for the murder of her newborn.
16-year-old Jasmine Wade has admitted to smothering her baby in the bathroom of a hospital in Louisville. She has been indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury and charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
Jazmine, who was 15 at the time admitted that she didn't know she was pregnant. After giving birth to the child she admits to wrapping a towel around its head to smother it.
Once she had killed the baby she hid the corpse in her purse, planned to take it home, find clothes for it and bury it.

The murder went unnoticed for several hours till she texted her friend.
"I'm crying so much, please don't tell anyone,"
"I was in the hospital, my granny had another stroke," the girl continued. "So I walked outside and I overheated and now I'm in the hospital and around 4 this morning I pushed out the baby in the toilet. It was crying and opening its eyes and everything. I had to kill it."
Her friend advised her to call the police, but she said,
"No, what the F. It's been dead since 4 in the morning, I told you I had to kill it."
She texted her friend pictures of the dead baby. The friend called 911 and reported the incident to the police. The father of the baby was also 15 at the time.
