CINCINNATI, OH - Julia Boyajian was found in her College Hill apartment on Monday. She had been stabbed to death.
When she didn't show up at work her co-workers reached out to her family and friends and then contacted the police. School administrator, Susan Moore said, "Even if she's away, she knows what the protocol is. She calls and her former supervisor said even then she'd frequently ask about the kids. 'Well, this one had to go home with a fever,' or 'Be sure and check on so-and-so,' and typically signed her, if she sent an email you're the best, Julia."
The police are searching for a "person of interest." The man's name is
Joseph Swecker. On Tuesday, Julia's car was found on West Fork Road, near Mount Airy Forest. Police with K9 officers and detectives immediately began searching the area looking for the 34-year-old man, with shoulder length brown hair. The search was called off later that afternoon.
Swecker's father and brothers are fully cooperating with police to help locate the man and are planning on filing a missing person report. No charges have been filed at this time.
Moore describes Julia as, "lovely and we miss her and we always will."
Attendance at the school was affected on Tuesday, as students try to make sense out of this horrible crime and accept the loss of such a beloved teacher.
