A nurse was pulled over by police after being clocked doing 164 kmh/102 mph in New Zealand.
The Filipino nurse, Joel Paragas Ubando, 28, was fined $650.00 and had his license suspended for six months, after appearing before a judge on Tuesday.
The police report states that Ubando was filmed on camera traveling at lightening speed. He was driving uphill with his foot completely down on the accelerator.
His defense attorney, Katy Barker said Ubando didn't realize how fast he was traveling. He was totally shocked and afraid when he was told the speed he was going. He said he had never driven that fast before.
Ubando, a registered nurse was on his way to the nursing home where he was employed when he was pulled over by police.
Judge Cook said she couldn't believe how fast he was going and that he could have caused some serious damage to himself and others.
