MASSACHUSETTS – A teenager is facing charges of aggravated assault for allegedly punching a nurse in the face causing the nurse to lose consciousness.
Police responded to a 911 call on Wednesday of a group home for special needs children and developmentally disabled. According to staff at the facility, a 15-year-old boy assaulted and seriously injured a nurse.
The nurse involved was a 60-year old man who was attempting to administer medications to the boy. The boy got irritated that the nurse was disrupting his activities with other clients.
The boy and the nurse were involved in a verbal altercation, then the boy went out to the nurse's car in the parking lot and punched out one of the windows.
The teenager then went to the nurse's office and began punching the nurse in the face and lacerating his eye. The nurse lost consciousness temporarily.
When the nurse awoke he locked himself in his office till the police arrived, because the teen was still attempting to punch him.
Once police arrived they charged the teen with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree aggravated assault. he was arrested and taken to the Morris County Juvenile Detention Facility.
The nurse was transported to Newton Medical Center for treatment.
