A San Diego man was sentenced to life in prison for stabbing a nurse 11 times in a brutal an unprovoked attack.
Gregg Allen Taylor, 57, was convicted of premeditated attempted murder in the November attack.
Taylor walked past the psychiatric nurse as she was approaching her place of employment at North Central Region Outpatient Clinic on Morena Boulevard, San Diego.
The nurse said "Hi" to the man then he turned to her and stabbed her in the head, chest, and neck. The victim survived her attack and faced the man in court after his sentencing. She told him "You have stolen my life from me and I'm here today to get it back." She went on to ask Taylor why he stabbed her. Taylor avoided eye contact with the nurse and remained silent.
Police are completely baffled as to the motive of the attack and coworkers of the nurse are stunned. Taylor has no prior criminal record. He received a sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole.
